TweakMedia was formed in early 2000, when college students Casey Choron and Alan Finkelstein first applied their studies and crafts to the world around them. Finkelstein, Ramapo College event coordinator and online marketing major utilized his skills in public relations, sales, and e-commerce strategies and reached out to several local businesses in need of online expansion. Impressed by his knowledge and understanding of the fundamental concepts of brick-and-mortar business as they relate to the creation of successful online businesses, Finkelstein soon developed an impressive roster of potential leads in the fashion, antique, and manufacturing industries. One week in late February, Finkelstein and Choron met with each contact, and presented each with samples of how their businesses could expand to the web. By the end of the week, each lead had turned into a client, and in the first week of March, TweakMedia was online and incorporated. Within a few short months, all sites were completed and thus started strategic business relationships that still exist today.

In late 2000, Choron, animator / designer, pulled his resources together and landed a project that would play a key role in TweakMedia's development. In designing Bruce Springsteen's official website, TweakMedia was not only recognized as an excellent provider of flash content for the web, but also as a major player among East Coast design teams. By early 2001, TweakMedia had already begun negotiations with music industry names like Wave Distribution and Jon Landau Management. At this time, Choron and Finkelstein knew it was time to expand and they turned to the aid of their most talented classmates. Upon graduating college, Choron and Finkelstein, opened an eight workstation facility that would be home to TweakMedia and eventually, TM3D. They employed their classmates who had helped them grow, and within a few short months, TweakMedia took form as a full-service design firm, offering everything from web development to graphic design, to 3d animation for architects.
